Great rifle. Bought when the .17HMR was new. Most accurate factory rimfire I have ever shot. Plenty of power in the round too. Where it would take 2-3 shots with .22LR one was enough. I could hit nickles at 75 yards consistently. Would recommend it for any youngster learn to shoot accuratly without the painful recoil. Just be careful with smaller game i.e. rabbits and squirrels, it tends to do to much damage with the Hornady ammo. Was picky with ammo but loved the Hornady VMAX.
