This gun works flawlessly, the overbored to 10ga bore creates great patterns,and in concert with the ported barrels and gun weight, makes a 3 1/2" feel like a 2 3/4".all 3 1/2" shells feed flawlessly although the federal brand can have a tendency to somewhat blow the crimp partway off for some reason, I notice the federals are true 3.5" , most manufacturers of 3 1/2" shells including Kent, Fiocchi,Estate, are closer to 3.25" or 3.375" long If the gun does have 3.5" feed problems (which mine doesn't)you might try using something of the somewhat shorter 3.5" shells described above. The only thing i did to my 835 was to add a "firesight", these work great on the 835, and don't "overilluminate" as fiber optics can tend to do, if you over illuminate,it can draw your eye to the bead instead of the target, and you'll "MISS" unless your turkey hunting, then a fiber optic would work ok.Great waterfowl gun !
