Susan Moulton and her husband Shorty Smith own and operate Blanco Creek and Running M Ranches, west of San Antonio. You simply cannot imagine the quality that abounds in all facets of their operations. Susan and Shorty personally take care of their guests, and it takes only a few hours to feel like you are family. Facilities, food, service, and equipment are all top-of-the-line. The deer available are whitetail from management bucks through top-scoring book animals, and they are plentiful beyond description. Oryx, blackbuck, sika deer, fallow deer, and other exotics are available, as are wild boar, feral hogs, turkey, quail, javelina, and elk. The first morning I was in the blind I shot a nice 10 point about 30 minutes after sunrise. I could have waited and possibly taken a larger buck but was limited on time and wanted to take a deer.If you are considering a Texas deer or exotic hunt, you owe it to yourself to check out Blanco Creek Ranch.
