I hunted at Cherokee Run May 13 - 15, 2010.I saw pigs (4-6 of them) and heard them on 2 other occasions. I blew a bow shot or there would be pork in the freezer now. The swamps are very thick and since it was dry the pigs were in there staying cool. Even though they were very close to me a few times, you can't always see them. Please be aware that this is a Free Range hunt. These animals are neither fenced, nor trapped elsewhere and released in the hunting area. As such, you need to remember that nothing is guaranteed. I saw plenty of sign, but weather, scent and luck play a part. Not everyone saw pigs, if you need guaranteed kills or guaranteed sightings, you may want to consider one of the many preserves available. I also had a great time visiting with Tom, he's funny, knowledgeable and a great guy to talk to. Scott, the guide worked hard for us, and was terrific as well. For the cost of this hunt you get a lot. NO, you are not buying a pig, but they are out there. Hunt hard, listen to the guides and you may have an opportunity. What you do with that opportunity is up to you. Come with a few friends, bring a good attitude and enjoy the experience. The game is certainly there, pigs, deer, turkeys, raccoons, and a bobcat were spotted by my group. Feel free to email me with questions.I'll return to Cherokee Run, and probably bring my sons.
