Overall Impression: Good for the price

Brushy Hill Ranch is a 10,000+ acre 'bowhunting only' lease located outside of Sabinal, Texas. The ranch specializes in "Day Hunting"; so yes… it’s over hunted. The price is very reasonable so they see allot of hunters every year. The cabins are 'bunkhouse’ style, but very roomy and comfortable. I used the local foreman, Nick Anderson, for a semi-guided hunt. Nick set-up a couple of stands for me ahead of time for $100. The first afternoon I passed on a 10 point buck (140 class) at 10 yards. Big mistake! I saw lots of smaller bucks for the next 4 days, but nothing that was mature. If you are looking for a place with lots of big bucks, then spend the big bucks and go to a managed ranch, or Kansas. If you want a nice place to go for a fair chase hunt, this place is beautiful and big... and there are lots of pigs at no extra charge.
