In a nutshell, this was the Hunt from Hell. I had hunted with this outfit the two previous years and for the most part had a very satisfying experience. However, the 2008 hunt was anything but. This year, I felt immediately unwelcome, as if our party was a burden and we were doing him a favor. From poorly maintained stands, to a hostile and surly disposition on the outfitter's part,to how much toilet paper and electricity was being consumed, and the fact that no breakfast was ever provided because as was told to us, "It's breakfast or I can scatter corn, you can't have both".The straw that broke the camel's back, in my humble opinion, was the fact that the illegal kill fee, which had always been $250.00, was raised to $500.00, and we were not informed of these facts upon arrival at camp.The outfitter never once mentioned in writing or in conversation that these changes had taken place. All he did was use a black marker on the previously posted camp regulations which were displayed on he corner of the lodge, right by the door. Mind you, not once in the past 3 years we hunted with this outfitter, did we make an illegal kill.In conclusion, this hunt soured us to the point, that our hunting party decide to take the year off. I do not wish this experience on anybody else, and hope that I never have to go through something like this again.

Outfitter Response: I only take 5 hunters at a time. This was supposed to be a party of 3 and only 2 showed up with no advanced notice from Mr. Jorge, which would have allowed me to fill the spot..... He never had a problem with the illegal kill fee because he never killed an illegal deer the previous 2 years he hunted with us. He had a problem with it in 2008 because they killed 2 illegal bucks! Have a problem with illegal kill fees? Don't shoot immature bucks or hunt with an outfit that allows you to shoot anything! He has hunted with me 2 previous years and how I am and how I do things are of no surprise! He says I did not put the increase in the illegal kill fee in writing but the next breath says I posted it on my camp rules with a black marker right by the front door of the lodge......................doesn't this classify as "is writing"?Thank you for allowing me to respond.
