I went to Rivers Bend in 2006 and had a good experience. There were a few things I was not happy about but overall it was a good experience. But we went the last week of the hunting season and we were the only 4 people in camp. Joe (the owner)was a little lazy. He stayed in the lodge in his recliner a lot and left most of the work up to the guides, who were working part time. The next year I went back and it was a totally different story. He had overbooked the lodge, and I quickly found out that he was rotating us through the same stands. My guide smoked and smoked in his truck. So when I got to my drop off point I stunk like smoke. He had just opened a new operation on the IN side of the river and spent the whole week over there. He never returned any of my calls and simply ignored us. I was speaking to another hunter at dinner and we figured out that he hunted the same stand I just hunted that morning and I was his stand from that morning. One morning he sent me with a guide that took me to his house 20 miles away and I litterly hunted in his back yard. I finally shot a 128 class 8 point the last night with Joe's permission and left it with Joe(along with a ($150.00 deposit) to get mounted. Liked to never got the mount back. Overall the place could be great, but they are overbooking the place for the amount of huntable land. Would not go back.
