This was a complete farse. There are no trophy bulls much less elk on this overgrazed, over hunted exaggeration of a private land elk hunt. The owner David Stanley was no where to be found during the hunt through he will tell you exactly what you want to hear when you inquiry about his ranch. Save your money folks for a real hunt.

Outfitter Response: This is 1 of 4 reviews posted from the same hunt in 2008 which coincided with the worst drought in 150 years. Hunting was tough. We charged was $2,750 plus food and lodging. We didn't provide management or restrict how you wanted to structure your hunt. For well over 25 years, the elk were plentiful and our hunters enjoyed the freedoms and low costs of this way of doing things. But due to the extended drought conditions and experiences like the Hogans we had to make some changes. Because of the growing cooperation from the New Mexico Game and Fish we have now adopted and implemented similar program management objectives as our neighbors, the UU Bar and CS ranches, who also have to deal with state land trespass issues. We reduced our bull hunts over %25 (our first year of management we reduced bull permits issued by %80) and began an intensive effort to control trespass and manage of our wildlife populations. This has improved all guest services; hunting, fishing and other year round recreational use. This said, if your only interest is in killing a 350+ Trophy bull, it will be a number of years before this is the ranch for you.
