Would Recommend: Absolutely, great hunt

Overall Impression: Spectacular

Drove up to LG4 from Pennsylvania with my wife and son. About 30 hours if you stop for breakfast and dinner. Last 180 miles is very good gravel road, well maintained. Averaged 50mph on the gravel road. LG4 has accomodations for both sleeping and eating. Meal cost was $22.50 for dinner. Seems high but don't forget, this food has to be either driven or flown into camp quite some distance. Lodging was motel style (your sleeping bag). Flew out the next morning, ontime. Hunted the first afternoon. Did see some caribou but waited until the next morning to do any shooting. Made all meals ourselves in camp. Took up alot of dried stews (Mrs Grass), spagetti w/ dried sauce mix, fresh vegetables, dried milk, cereal, oatmeal, drink mixes, some bottled water and snacks for in the field. Bread, peanut butter and jelly were the mainstay of our lunches.Hunting was very good and we did see alot of caribou + a very large black bear which no one had a license for. We averaged seeing about 25-50 animals a day until the second last evening and the last day when a major migration came thru. We saw thousands of animals then. The hills were covered. My wife took 2 bulls, my son took 2 very nice bulls and I took a very, very good bull and a cow...whoops. We shot an average of 1-2 caribou a day.The terrain is mostly sparse pine trees on rolling hills. Alot of water! I've been caribou hunting with other outfitters six times previously but by far, this is the best value I've come across. Ken Taylor was our camp manager. He has written numberous articles for outdoor magazines and is a traditional longbow fanatic. Ben runs a truely fantastic operation up there at LG4. I'm planning on going back with my family again in a few years. Super people!!Cargair will be at the Eastern Sport Show in Harrisburg, stop in and see him.
