It was a hunt that what could go wrong did.Example, while hunting the rancher came in and moves 500 head of cattle on the 3,000 acres we were hunting. The entire hunt was geared to drive elk and when there not there not much action.A death in the guides family kept us out of the woods for 2 days. We hunted for 1 hour in the morning and he was gone till the next night.The ranch house was under construction and drywall, bare wires everywhere, bedrooms had no closets, drawers or places to put your items so you lived out of your bags.they were also the pantry and deep freeze areas. The beds were at least 30 years old and terrible. The flies were so fierce inside that one could barely eat a meal.Furniture around the TV consisted of hard plastic lawn furniture. I was told the cows would be gone and they weren't, that he had 16,000 acres and it turned out to be 4,500 in 2 spots...3,000 on 1,500 the other. The elk on the 1,500 acre land were cows and spikes.We 4 good bulls the first day but they were either 4 miles away or on someone else's land. The hunter who chewed out the outfitter got the best spots on the drives and the only elk. Mornings were hectic w/ hunters put in one vechile then moved to another then another. No real game plan.
