This was my second hunt with Rivers Bend in Southern Illinois. I bow hunted the last week of November between the two shotgun seasons. The overall experience is hard to describe. I had several opportunities at 120" class deer. The first afternoon in stand I videoed a 165" at 80 yards. Unfortunately, I shot a deer on the third evening of my hunt which we were unable to recover. On this night, I had three shooter bucks within 50 yards of my stand. When I released the arrow there were eight bucks and 12 does within 80 yards of the stand. I have dreamed for many years of hunting in Illinois and have spoken with many outfitters. I decided on Rivers Bend, due to their relationship with Realtree Outdoors,and have been more than satisfied with this choice. Joe Smith and his son Matt will go out of their way to make your hunt a success.
