I said I was going back to Portland Landing because it was so good but the guys from Mossy Oak leased all the land so I searched for another outfitter in Alabama and came up with Blackbelt Lodge which I am very satisfied with. I was there on Jan. 20 for a four day hunt which was in the 70's and low 80's for 3 days and still saw shooter bucks in the 15 to 16 inch inside spread. Had to let one buck walk which was over 16 inch inside spread because I just shot one an hour and fifteen minutes before that. This outfitter is a member of the Alabama deer management program and your buck has to have a 14 inch minimum inside spread or you have to pay a fine if it is too small. All the landowners around their land have the same program or larger on the minimum spread which make some really nice deer.
